Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does it hurt to get a Temporary Airbrush Tattoo?
A: This is one of our most commonly asked questions. The answer is NO! If anything, it tickles a little. When the curious minded approach one of our locations for the first time, they immediately notice the artist pointing a tattoo gun at the individual being “tattooed”. Since most folks are not very familiar with the airbrush, it is often mistaken for a real tattoo gun. This peaks interest and adds to the intrigue, which in turn helps build huge crowds.
The Same answer applies to Temporary Glitter Tattoos and Airbrush Face Painting.
Q: How are tattoos applied?
A:Airbrush Tattoos are applied via an airbrush utilizing non-toxic cosmetic body paint. The area is sanitized prior to application then set with setting powder to ensure instant drying.
Same procedure applies to Airbrush Face Painting.
Glitter Tattoos are applied using non- toxic body safe glue through a stencil and the glitter is then applied. The area is sanitized prior to application.
Q: How long does a Temporary Airbrush Tattoo last?
A:T.A.T Me Up UK use Premium Body Paint/Ink for our Airbrush Tattoo's, which are instant drying, water resistant and last on average 5 days depending on where the T.A.T is positioned on your body, but we have had many clients that have managed to preserve their T.A.T’s for up to 14 days following the care guide that we have provided. Glitter Tattoos tend to last on average 4 days. And the best thing about a Temporary Tattoo is that it can be removed instantly with isopropyl alcohol or baby oil.
The duration of the tattoo depends heavily on how it is cared for. Here are a few simple instructions to follow in order to maximize the duration of your Airbrush Tattoo.
Pat Dry: After Bathing or Swimming
Powder: After Bathing or throughout the day (if you can)
Avoid: Direct contact with Oils, Lotion and Soap
Remove: Apply rubbing/surgical alcohol or baby oil
Q: What kind of designs do you provide and how many?
A: We have over 500 designs, most people can choose from popular tribal armbands to butterflies and everything in between. Whether it’s a Fire-Breathing Dragon or a Delicate Rose, we provide a little something for everyone.
Q: What kind of paint do you use, and how safe is it for the skin?
A:T.A.T Me Up UK’s Premium Body Paints are designed specifically for application to the skin. Produced with FDA approved skin safe ingredients to EU Standards. They are Guaranteed Hypo Allergic, 100% Non- Toxic and can be applied to a child as young as 2 years old. We do not know of a single case where there has been an adverse skin reaction due to the use of our Premium Body Paints.
Q: Do you use Henna Products?
A:NO!T.A.T Me Up UK does not recommend the use of henna products for the following reasons. Henna products have in fact been banned by the FDA for use on the skin.
Many individuals display adverse skin reactions to henna (ranging from mild to quite extreme) creating obvious liability factors to consider. Henna products are not instant drying, thus if the henna design is smeared during the staining and drying process, it will remain in that condition for the duration! It cannot be removed if needed. Henna products must be mixed for use, and once mixed; they tend to have a very short shelf life. Furthermore, henna takes considerably longer to apply than Airbrush Tattoos and Airbrush Body Art, again making it less productive. Henna has a distinct look to it that for the purpose of realism does not compare with T.A.T Me Up UK’s Temporary Airbrush Tattoos.
